The rhino poaching crises is mainly attributed to Vietnamese and Chinese people using the horn in powder form for medicinal reasons; to cure cancer and as an aphrodisiac. There are absolutely no medical or other benefits from digesting rhino horn. Due to the high demand and value it has become a status symbol among the extremely wealthy. Despite the conservation efforts, rhinos are critically endangered and the black rhino has been declared extinct.

The owners of Nkonka Private Camp have joined forces with CYCLE OF LIFE to raise funds to help save our endangered rhinos and create awareness for this desperate plight.

Nkonka Private Camp has a charity arm that supports an anti-poaching rhino programme in Kwa-Zulu Natal. For the past 3 years we have cycled the Cape Town Cycle Tour in support of saving the rhinos from poaching in the KwaZulu Natal region. This venture has grown from 6 riders in 2014 to 112 riders entering the Cape Town Cycle Tour in 2017. The ongoing support an generosity has been overwhelming.

Every cent that we raise is accounted for by ‘The cycle of Life’ team. We work very closely with the Munyawana Conservation fund,  @beyond and Africa Foundation. Not only is every cent accounted for but every cent counts. Please help us to help our endangered rhinos in South Africa.
